Fred Bristol is a retired educator, business advisor and marketing strategist with senior leadership experience in sales, marketing, customer operations, organizational development, process improvement and project management. In his retirement, he is an amateur songwriter, hiker, and tennis player.

In semi-retirement, Fred was an Adjunct Professor in the Business Department at Buffalo State College currently teaching Internet Marketing and e-Commerce.  He has also taught Intro to Marketing, Human Resource Management, Advertising, Direct Marketing, Media Sales, Sales Management, Public Relations and Integrated Marketing.

Immediately before retiring, Fred was a Business Advisor and the Energy Coordinator for the Small Business Development Center at Buffalo State College.  The SBDC is the premier business assistance organization in New York State providing expert management and technical assistance to start-up and existing businesses through free one-to-one counseling, training and instructional programs.

Prior to Buffalo State College, Fred spent seven years as VP of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership helping the region and businesses grow, developing a new membership team and focus, increasing revenues, and re-inventing the member benefits program.

Prior to the Partnership, Fred had a successful 30-year career in the cable television industry, primarily as VP of Marketing for Cox Communications, though he started and ended his career in Buffalo with International Cable and Adelphia respectively.  Throughout his career, he held a wide variety of marketing, operational and programming management roles.

Fred is a Past President of Buffalo Niagara Sales and Marketing Executives and volunteered for many other community organizations.  He received his BA from Amherst College and his MBA from the University at Buffalo.

When he isn’t traveling, he lives in Orchard Park (Buffalo), NY. He also is involved in preserving The Hedges on Blue Mountain Lake in the Adirondacks which has been a rustic resort in the great camp tradition since 1921.
