Original Songs

I am an amateur songwriter, not a performer. Therefore, I would love to have others perform my songs. If interested, please contact me at fred@fredbristol.com and I’ll share the music with you.

I recently began writing again in my retirement after nearly 40 years. The new songs are about issues we all are facing now, especially those of us in retirement, while most of the old ones written in the 70s and 80s are about the trials and tribulations of finding love.

The first demos were recorded on my Yamaha DGX-660 Portable Grand Digital Piano. I’ve recorded acoustic versions on my Kawai RX-2 Grand (5′ 10″). Some of the takes were recorded “live” on my Yamaha without using the multi-tracking and mixing capabilities of my H4 recorder and show how I am constantly changing my arrangements.

My latest songs are: Drive On, recorded with the software Cakewalk Sonar to expand the limited capabilities of the H4, and Wedding Song, written for my daughter’s wedding and sung by a good friend of hers. I’ve also begun to update my older songs using Cakewalk and MAutoPitch (to compensate for my poor singing voice). The first of these are Together, an appropriate song for these times, Too Far Apart, Not in America, Will You Remember and Pain. These updated demos will be denoted with an asterisk (*).
